MissionsFirst Church supports missions that spread Jesus' love and meet the basic needs of people from our hometown of Coral Springs to places around the world. These are missions that First Church supports:4 Children’s S.A.K.E.: provides special items and financial support to this organization dedicated to helping children in foster care Automobile: facilitates the donation of cars for use by single parents Broward Children’s Center Children’s Home: visits and supports this home specializing in helping children with special needs Brookwood Home: provides home repair, maintenance and financial support to this local home for girls Broward Outreach Center: provides this homeless retraining center with fresh food and supplies Caring Connection: brings joy and companionship to seniors in local assisted living facilities and those in need of home help Construction Missions: a team of Church volunteers on call for our mission trips Desmond Fleury Foundation: provides financial support to this orphanage in Haiti, where we provide food and clothing, provide construction in the bakery and orphanage and assist in the medical clinic along with worship at the chapel Dine with Jesus: provides devotions and hot meals to the homeless at Emmanuel Baptist Church every Monday evening Families Crisis Ministry: shares the love and blessings of God with others by providing financial assistance and counseling to qualified church members and qualified members of the community. The ministry also administers the Thanksgiving Basket food program and the Adopt a Family for Christmas program. Fig Tree Ministries: provides Bible lessons, teaching English and job skills to children at the Hogar de Ninos de Nazereth Orphanage in Comayagua, Honduras Furniture Ministry: receives donations of furniture and provides furniture to families in need at no cost Habitat for Humanity: work crews provide labor to build homes for the needy Haitian Churches: provides Creole songbooks and Bibles, in addition to bulk rice and beans to all local Haitian Churches, regardless of affiliation Helpers of St. Herman: provides furniture, repairs, and financial aid to this home for mentally challenged men and women His Walk: provides food, clothing, Bibles and Bible studies at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ft. Lauderdale Hope Pregnancy Center: provides much needed baby items and financial support to this local facility that offers an alternative to abortion Medical Missions: A team of nurses and doctors on call for mission trips Methodist Children’s Home: provides funds to support this home for at-risk children and youth in Enterprise, Fla. Military Ministry: every person, serving in our armed forces, that is referred to First Church, receives a monthly package and a card from us Prison Ministry: provides Bibles and clothing to a local prison transition facility Sandwich Club: brings latch key kids into our facilities to feed, play, sing and share the gospel on Wednesday afternoons from 2:00-4:00 pm during the school year School Ministry (Hunt Elementary School): provides uniforms and school supplies, offering clinical and teaching assistance, reading and special project opportunities Shoebox Ministry: provides shoeboxes filled with items needed by the homeless and our military personnel Sue Sommer: Contemporary Christian recording/performing artist Village Methodist Church: provides school supplies, furnishings, appliances, etc. on an as-needed basis Wesley Group Home: provides needed supplies, furnishings and financial support to this Methodist Home in Hallandale, Florida Youth Ministry (FUMC): our youth participate in various mission projects throughout the year |
